Direct deals

Direct deals — investing in a specific private company or property directly, rather than through a fund. No fund fees, full control and information — and no diversification: you carry the single-asset risk yourself. Exited entrepreneurs favor direct deals in domains they understand, which is competence-circle investing; the same structure bought blind is just concentration without the competence.
