Estate freeze
Estate freeze — in planning vocabulary: capping the value that will ever enter your estate by transferring appreciating assets to heirs now (in the PH, via 6% donor’s tax on today’s values — the appreciation then accrues in their hands). In PH practical vocabulary, also the thing that happens to unplanned estates: until estate tax is settled per asset, nothing legally moves — and one untitled lot, unregistered deed, or unfindable account can strand an entire settlement for years, multiplying heirs and lawyer-years. The course teaches both senses on purpose: execute the first so you never demonstrate the second.
