VASP block
VASP block — the December 2025 action in which PH regulators, via the NTC, ordered ISPs to block Interactive Brokers, classifying it as an unregistered Virtual Asset Service Provider (a crypto-era designation applied to a traditional securities broker). Client assets stayed segregated and withdrawable — it was an access-layer block, not a custody event — and access reportedly returned by mid-2026 with no official resolution. The standing lesson: any offshore, non-SEC-registered platform carries recurring access risk, and verifying current status belongs in the pre-funding ritual.
